Dakhla - Localisation
The name of Dakhla, in Arabic, is: الداخلة2; and in Berber: ⴷⴷⴰⵅⵍⴰ (written in Tifinagh), Ed-Daḵla.
Dakhla is located on the Atlantic coast of Western Sahara, on the edge of the Gulf of Dakhla.
Dakhla is located 650 km south of Laayoune, and 1,690 km south of Rabat, on a narrow peninsula, the Rio de Oro peninsula, which extends for about 40 km parallel to the Atlantic coast, in a northeast-southwest direction. The city is located about thirty kilometers north of the Tropic of Cancer, just like Havana, Canton or Hawaii. It is one of the last cities before Mauritania.

Dakhla is a little piece of paradise in the south of Morocco, lost between the waters of the Atlantic and the sands of the Sahara. Kilometers of beaches stretch on either side of the city: the opportunity to relax, the opportunity also to visit the city after the Trail.
